Sanskrit, Music, and Devotion — A Melodic Tribute to Bhagavān Śrī Ramaṇa Maharṣi
It was an evening where Sanskrit found its voice in melody — gentle, luminous, and deeply devotional.
On 11 November 2025, the Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute (KSRI) and The Samskrita Academy, Madras, welcomed Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Founder-Director of RASA – Ramana Sunritya Aalaya, for a special lecture-demonstration titled “Sanskrit Songs on Bhagavān Śrī Ramaṇa Maharṣi.”
Dr. Ambika led the audience through Sanskrit compositions that celebrate Bhagavān’s teachings and presence — works created by his revered disciples Kavyakanta Ganapati Muni, Sri Jagadeeshwara Sastri, Sri Lakshmana Sharma including the much-loved Shantananda Puri Swamigal's Ramana Suprabhatam.
She was joined by Dr. Vaishnavi Poorna, Assistant Director of RASA, on vocals and Master Chi. Viraj on the Ganjira, which beautifully complemented the renditions.
Supported by the S. Subbalakshmi Ammal Shankar Vidya & R. V. Easwaran Endowments and the Sri T. M. Krishnaswamy Iyer & Sri T. K. Balasubramanian Endowment, the event drew scholars, students, and devotees alike.
