आत्मौपम्येन भूतानि दरिद्रः परमीक्षते॥
Atheists, who are very proud of their wealth, fail to see things as they are. Therefore, making them poor is the suitable ointment to their eyes, so they may see things as they are. At least, a man who is struck by poverty can realise how painful it is, therefore, will not want others to be in a painful condition like his own.
