​The Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute, in association with the Samskrita Academy, Madras, conducted its annual Mahakavi Kalidasa Day endowment lecture.

Dr. K. PRASANTH KALLAY(Former Asso. Professor & Head, Dept. of Sanskrit, RKM Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai) delivered a lecture on
KĀLIDĀSA-THE ASTUTE DRAMATIST  under the auspices of the Dr. S. S. JANAKI COMMEMORATION ENDOWMENT & Sri VENKATANARAYANA IYER & Smt. SUNDARAMBAL ENDOWMENT.

Following the yearly custom of KSRI,  Dr. Vaishnavi Poorna(Deputy Director. RASA) rendered select verses of Kalidasa in musical form in different ragas during the invocation of the Mahakavi Kalidasa Day.
